Explanation of the conversion:
History: Fractyl was one of the protoforms from the Maximal ship called the Axalon commanded by Optimus Primal, which chased the Predacon
criminal Megatron II through transwarp space after the theft of the Golden Disc. The
Maximals and Predacons crashed on prehistoric Earth, where high energon levels threatened to destroy the crew unless they
adopted organic alternate modes (Beast Wars Part 1).
The Axalon's cargo of Maximal protoforms in stasis pods had been launched into orbit before the crash, but eventually
Fractyl's pod fell to Earth. Discovered by the Predacons and reprogrammed with a Predacon shell program as one of their kind he emerged formatted in the
form of a pterodactyl. Upon his emergence from the reprogrammed stasis pod, he immediately knelt to the ground collecting,
collating, and analyzing the geologic make-up of the area. Megatron II wanted to slag him where he stood. Although
extremely useful in other technical areas, Fractyl was a geochemist at heart and it is in the field where he spent most of
his time. Megatron II and the other Predacons prefered it that way. He was tolerated as long as he kept his distance or
if another team member wanted to use him to their advantage.
Fractyl was a pawn in a war of ideals. While Megatron II pushed him to be a warrior in his universe-dominating army,
Fractyl was more concerned with solving the problems caused by the strange planet's surplus of Energon. When forced with
confrontation, Fractyl prefered to think situations through before using violence as his last resort. He
believed there were too many interesting natural phenomena around the planet to investigate and would rather study them in
peace. He often flew alone to solve problems and get peace and quiet. However, Megatron II insisted that he takes a
stronger interest in the affairs of the Beast Wars. Focusing on the Energon deposits provided Fractyl with the opportunity
to contribute to the Predacon cause and conduct immensely stimulating scientific research. At times, Fractyl put his own
need for higher knowledge and acceptance at the expense of himself and his teammates.
Inferno II and Blackarachnia watched as Fractyl attempted to invent energon armor capable of
protecting them from energon build up. Although seemingly successful, the armor was stolen by the Maximal thief Packrat.
Blackarachinia and Fractyl realized the energon armor was flawed and could destroy the planet if it
came in contact with large amounts of energon. Inferno II pursued Packrat, but since Packrat didn't need to assume beast
mode with the armor on, he got the upper hand in the fight with Inferno II. Hearing the battle, Maximals Airazor, Cheetor and Rhinox joined Packrat.
Fractyl convinced Rhinox that the armor was a threat to them all. Rhinox was able to talk Packrat into giving up the
armor, which Fractyl aided them in doing. When Blackarachnia arrived with Megatron II, Packrat suggested that Fractyl
pretend to be attacking the Maximals, who fled. Megatron II was impressed with Fractyl's new found battle prowess
(Convention Comics 1997).
When the Earth was hit by a quantum wave it transfigured several Cybertonians into transmetal forms, but Fractyl was
unaltered (Aftermath).
Airazor, Tigatron, Ramulus, Sonar, Spittor, Packrat and Fractyl allied Primal
Prime in leaving Earth. Traveling to the future they arrived on Cybertron when it was controlled by Megatron II and
his vehicon hords. On Cybertron they met Ape-Linq and Rodimus and reformed the Wreckers. Seeking wisdom from the Oracle,
the Wreckers were sent on a mission off planet. They were joined by the Deployers Mol, Rav and Dillo as well as Arcee and Devcon while making it off planet in an Autobot Shuttle. Fractyl was nearly killed in
Arcee's lair by a Vehicon attack. Not wishing to see another death, Acree saved Fractyl by mingling her spark with his,
transforming him into a transmetal form (Convention Comics 2001).
During a confrontation with Devcon Fractyl collapsed, suffering from severe misalightment of his spark due to the Predacon
shell program. Although the Wreckers tried to treat Fractyl, they didn't gave the medical knowledge to help me. In a
desperate attempt to save Fractyl, Ape-Linq used his skills to upload the ship's medical dianostic computer into a digital
frame. This created the medical technician Cat-Scan, who saved Fractyl's life and placed him into stasis (Convention
Comics 2002).
Trivia: The toy of Fractyl was only available at the Botcon 1997 convention. The toy of Fractyl is similar to that
of Laserbeak II, Hydra and Terrorsaur. There is a chinese made knockoff of Fractyl in clear
blue and red colors.
Powers: Fractyl is a Predacon, a small, highly fuel efficient Cybertonian. He has exceptional intelligence and
is skilled in various sciences focusing on energy and geology. He can turn into a petrodactyl. He is very fast and can fly
in either form with a top speed of 240 mph in beast mode. He carries an augmented quark disruptor which breaks any target into its constituent subatomic particles.
In beast mode he has a powerful bite. He recovers from damage quicker in beast mode and is better protected from high energon levels
as well.
When Fractyl arrived on Cybertron he was immunized by Ape-Linq against the transformation locking
virus created by Megatron II.
Weaknesses: Fractyl is in constant search of acceptance from his Predacon teammates. Blinded by this need, he may
make foolish choices resulting in more problems. Fractyl has slightly below average strength and toughness and is low
ranking among the Predacons. He lacks
ranged weapons in beast mode. High energon fields can adversely effect Fractyl if he stays in robot form for too long. His
animal form is protected from high energon levels.
